Job Responsibilities
The BIM Manager is a professional responsible for management of the project Building Information Model, and for using BIM models / data to support the remainder of the MBS Development & Project Management team. BIM Manager will also act as an interface for the Design Team members’ and Contractors’ relevant BIM specialists/coordinators/operators in alignment with MBS requirements.
Essential Duties:
Consultant / Contractor Procurement and Change Management
- Assist Senior BIM manager in evaluating and informing responses to technical Queries regarding BIM throughout the Tender and award process.
- Serve as an interface for Design Team members’ and Contractors’ relevant BIM specialists for resolving technical questions or concerns related to relevant sections of MBS BIM protocols and requirements.
Design and Documentation
- Support MBS Development & Project Management team by generating views / perspectives / insights into the live federated BIM model and exporting data and content as required.
- Regularly interrogate/audit the Design BIM model to ensure compliance with MBS requirements and the BIM Execution plan, liaising with the relevant Consultant’s BIM specialists to address issues or concerns.
- Assist with ensuring design models issued by consultants and the associated Owner controlled content are current, accurate, and in alignment with MBS protocols.
- Develop and issue appropriate reporting of Design BIM model status in relation to the Design Schedule and BIM Execution Plan.
- Provide Support to the internal Design Team and Delivery Team in extracting and assembling 3D content as required for critical item review, executive presentation, and similar.
Construction / Construction Administration
- Assist Senior BIM Manager in maintaining and communicating procedures whereby Design Model content can be provided to Contractors as needed. Conversely, do the same to ensure Contractor Model content can be relayed to the Design Team as appropriate.
- Liaise with 3rd party BIM consultant and Senior BIM Manager to assist in overall management of the Contractors’ federated BIM Model
- Regularly interrogate/audit the Main Contractors’ BIM models to ensure compliance with MBS requirements and, as applicable, the BIM Execution Plan.
- Liaise with MBS scheduling to ensure that all construction schedule updates are adequately captured in updates to the above referenced 4D Model.
- Assist project reporting relating to above BIM procedures and protocols.
- Liaise with Senior BIM Manager, Design Team, Delivery Team, Contractors, and MBS Facilities Team to ensure that all appropriate project handover information, including federated BIM models and Digital Twin, are properly packaged and distributed to the appropriate parties.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 year’s working experience in BIM Modelling and BIM Management.
- Tertiary Degree in Architectural Design / Construction / Building / Project Management / Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360/Construction Cloud software
- Experience and familiarity with the remainder of the Autodesk suite of products preferred
- Extensive experience working on large scale, complex projects developed and delivered using BIM
- Excellent communications skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Experience with broad, complex teams delivering projects for large-scale commercial buildings.
- Experience in large-scale Integrated Resorts and/or Regulated Casino Environments is preferred, but not critical.
