Summary of Key Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for leading the procurement team in A&A, maintenance, MRO and FF&E sourcing for MBS various business units, including Facilities, Retail, Casino, Artscience museum, Hotel and Theatre. This role will have to oversee a team of 3 and at the same time handle its own projects. It involves ensuring that the team can meet the demands of business users by providing support mainly with regards to strategy sourcing, voluminous purchases, contract drafting/management, stakeholder and supplier management.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Drive procurement strategy and plans to deliver against the business objectives, whilst also delivering savings
  • Lead and perform sourcing cycle for buying, driving the negotiation process and contract management.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve the most competitive pricing and strengthen Company’s positions by securing values beyond pricing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the department, creating, streamlining and implementing best practice within the department.
  • Understand the needs of the stakeholders and manage their expectations and requirements.
  • Identify key operational issues for stakeholders and partner with them in developing and implementing a strategic solution.
  • Provide technical and commercial inputs to the RFP document to ensure completeness, compliance with procurement policies and add value to Company’s interest.
  • Execute and deliver on the sustainability goals for the trade/projects.
  • Staying abreast of market trends/conditions and procurement industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance team to draft, finalise and negotiate contracts with added value from commercial standpoint.
  • Proactively identify supplier risks and execute mitigation strategies.

 

 

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Extensive commercial sourcing and procurement experience, ideally within facilities management or construction industry.
  • Proven capability of effective negotiation to drive procurement strategy.
  • Financially and commercially astute, with experience of making tough decisions and excellent stakeholder management
  • Proven track record in effective leadership
  • Sound technical knowledge in A&A and equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Minimum Degree holder in Quantity Surveyor or Facilities Management or M&E engineering with at least 15 years working experience is preferred. 
  • Resourceful individual, well organized, results/time orientated, strong attention for detail and excellent prioritization skills.
  • Possess a positive work attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with procurement management software as the super user.
  • Ability to work well autonomously or within a team in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment.
