Job Responsibilities

               Corrective Maintenance

  • Manage the delivery and measurement of guest and internal department requests such as ad-hoc breakdown and ensuring Maximo job chit are closed promptly and accurately.
  • Manage the delivery and measurement of guest services within assigned department(s), consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
  • Conduct daily on-site physical inspection and monitor the work progress of all defects rectification; identify and follow through for any repair within the hotel footprint.

Preventive Maintenance & Projects

  • Manage and carry out hotel guest rooms and corridor maintenance program for all finishes, fit-outs and furniture.
  • Advocate improvement on work processes and areas to achieve excellent customer services to hotel guestrooms to improve the maintenance standard and efficiency of the Hotel Facilities operation team.
  • Conduct regular meetings and coordinate with the maintenance contractor to resolve and improve the service of relevant systems within the hotel footprint.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contract works as assigned by immediate supervisor to ensure their works are compliant with the required specifications and standards so as to meet objectives.
  • Work closely and liaise with all departments in property and contractors in project and maintenance coordination to minimize disruption to the hotel operations.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors and sub-contractors for any repair or Testing and Commissioning (T&C) of equipment along with contractors and other Team Members within the hotel footprint.
  • Review drawings and schematic diagrams to ensure designs and specifications to be compliant to the regulatory requirements and MBS standards.

Resource and People Management

  • Lead the Hotel team of Assistant Managers/Supervisors/Technicians/Engineers to deliver quality up-keeping of the hotel.
  • Assist the Associate Directors in planning of job duration and assessing manpower, materials, tools and equipment, special services required for the job.
  • Coaching and training for Team Members to be aligned to the company’s standard
  • Develop and sustain a high quality and motivated team.
  • Prepare RFP document for maintenance contract with measurable KPIs and SLAs.
  • Plan, manage, select and procure consumable materials.
  • Review and streamline all purchase requests with procurement department.
  • Develop annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  • Perform regular forecast to the CAPEX and OPEX to maintain accuracy.


  • Enforce all safety programs and training with regards to WSH.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with MBS policies and within the realm of the MBS Company vision, mission and values.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo; administering progressive discipline in accordance with MBS guidelines.
  • Build and design initiatives, programs and reports for continuous quality monitoring and improvement to the overall maintenance of the Hotel and service.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.



Education & Certification

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in the fields of Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management or equivalent. Candidates without the required qualifications but with adequate experience in similar position may apply.
  • Professional Qualification and Certification relating to the above-mentioned fields will be an advantage.


  • At least three to five years of solid hands-on practical working in any Hotels providing Customers Service, Operations supports, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of local regulations, standards and ordinances on hotel operations and maintenance.
  • Possess good understanding of building services.
  • Be able to work outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including those at height.


  • Possess good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, with an eye for detail .
  • Get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team.
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision and at times independently, as well as under pressure.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to Departmental and Company policies.
  • Be willing to work any day of the week and any shift, long hours when necessary.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods or prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
